Leaving the pad in place costs less. Breaking up and hauling away a concrete slab is heavy, involved work that adds to the price.
What is inside
A garage packed with stored items has to be cleared before anything comes down. An empty one is quicker and cheaper to take on.
Access and disposal
How easily a truck and equipment can reach the garage, plus the volume of debris hauled (framing, siding, shingles), all factor in.
Permits and utilities
Any power, gas, or water running to the garage has to be disconnected safely first, and a demolition may need a City permit. We help you sort out what applies.

Do I need a permit to demolish a garage in Calgary?
A garage demolition in Calgary can require a permit from the City, and any utilities running to it need to be disconnected safely first. It is worth confirming before work begins, and we are happy to talk through what your project involves.
Does removing the concrete slab cost extra?
It can. Breaking up and hauling away a concrete pad is heavier, more involved work than taking down the frame and roof, so a job that includes slab removal costs more than one that leaves the pad in place. Tell us whether you want the slab gone and we will include it in the quote.
Is it cheaper to clear out the garage than to demolish it?
They are two different jobs. Clearing out means removing everything inside and leaving the building standing; demolition means taking the structure down as well. If you only need the contents gone, a cleanout costs less than a full teardown, tell us which you need and we will quote it.
